About me and my 1 year travels

Hello! To introduce myself, you may have guessed I LOVE to travel. You can call me Nessa for short and some of my friends describe me as a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of person. I am a polyglot, which I guess is an extravagant term for person who knows multiple languages. I can speak 5 languages conversationally and am always on the look out for more funny phrases in different languages.

I decided to start blogging and making videos as something for me to look back onto in the future, as well as to share my my travel stories and tips with my friends, family and other fellow travellers. Personally, it’s been a fun learning curve and I hope you learn something from my stories too!

My latest travels

Exploring the mountains in Central Asia

Recently, I went on a one year backpacking trip and just arrived home. The main goal of the trip was to visit Central Asia and it somewhat turned into a journey along the silk roads. I started my trip March 2019 in South East Asia before going to the Eastern end of the ancient silk road- China, from there I went by land/sea to Central Asia, and the Caucasus region.

Initially I wanted to go from there to Turkey and Eastern Europe, but plans unexpectedly changed and I ended up in Sweden for Christmas before dropping by Japan on my way home. Even if not part of my original plan, all the unexpected things are definitely one of the best parts of my travel!

I didn’t know how long my journey will take me, nor was I sure if the money would last me a year. In the end, everything worked out perfectly. I planned to blog during my trip but found it took away from the travel experience since I would have had to regularly invest my time into it.

So, now that I’m back home, I’ve started updating my blog again and have been posting up videos onto youtube. In the mean time, you can also take a look at my Instagram account to get a glimpse into my trip.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy my stories! Also feel free to contact me here anytime!
